While this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown was taped, the emotions were very real. The past few days have been rough for WWE star Michin.
She announced a few days ago that her dog Jolene had passed away. Michin made a heartbreaking post about the news on social media, having previously revealed that Jolene was unwell the night before she “crossed the rainbow bridge.”
Michin was in action on SmackDown, which was taped last Friday night. She faced Piper Niven and Lash Legend, who replaced Jade Cargill, in a Triple-Threat first round match in the Women’s United States Championship tournament. The 35-year-old won the match.
While it technically happened a week ago, Michin has since dedicated this win to her dog. She sent an emotional message on X/Twitter, calling Jolene her little lady:
“For you, my lil lady,” Michin tweeted following her win.
It remains to be seen who Michin will face in the semi-final of the tournament, with her opponent set to be determined next week on SmackDown. Naomi, Tiffany Stratton, and Elektra Lopez will duke it out for the last spot in the final four.
Whoever wins on that side of the bracket will face the winner between Bayley and Chelsea Green in the final. The first-ever Women’s United States Champion will be determined at Saturday Night’s Main Event in two weeks.
