WWE Superstar Randy Orton Talks About His Retirement: “I Wanna Be On The Road Every Week”

The world of professional wrestling is unforgiving, with injuries often sidelining even the biggest stars. Randy Orton, a veteran of the WWE, knows this all too well, having battled numerous injuries throughout his illustrious career. Speculation about his retirement has been rife, especially after a major back injury in 2022 forced him out of action for 18 months. However, Orton himself has now addressed these rumors, reassuring fans that he has no intention of hanging up his boots anytime soon.

Orton, who has been a cornerstone of the WWE since the beginning of his career, remains one of the company’s most iconic figures and continues to draw crowds with his performances in the ring. At 44 years old and a 14-time WWE world champion, Orton recently opened up about his retirement plans, much to the relief of his devoted fan base.

In a candid conversation on Adam’s Apple, Orton emphasized his desire to continue wrestling well into his 50s. He expressed his reluctance to adopt the part-time schedule followed by other wrestling legends like The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, stating his preference for being on the road every week and participating in all WWE events.

Orton stated, “I wanna make all the TVs and be on all the PLEs and at 44, just turned 44, I would love to be able to go into my 50s. Maybe I wrestle until I’m 50 and call it and that’s 30 years. Thirty years with the same company, on top. I wrestled more pay-per-views, PLEs, whatever you wanna call it than anyone else in the history of the WWE.”

He also credited the changes implemented under the leadership of Triple H for enabling him to manage his workload better and allowing for sufficient recovery time when needed. With this support system in place, Orton’s career is expected to continue thriving for years to come.

For fans who have followed Orton’s journey over the past three decades, his commitment to staying in the ring and continuing to entertain is undoubtedly uplifting news. As Orton looks ahead to the future, his dedication to his craft and his enduring legacy within the WWE serve as a testament to his remarkable career and enduring passion for professional wrestling.
