WWE legend confirms he’s retired; will never wrestle again: “I’m done”

Fans of “The King of Brawling,” Dutch Mantell, received some sad news recently. The veteran wrestler and manager confirmed his official retirement from in-ring competition.

Mantell, known for his “We The People” faction with Jack Swagger and Cesaro, took to social media to announce his decision. A mainstay in wrestling since 1972, Mantell not only competed in the ring himself but also played a crucial role in shaping careers. He famously trained The Undertaker and Kane, leaving a lasting legacy.

Mantell’s career spanned across WWF, WCW, and WWC, where he solidified his reputation as “Dirty” Dutch. He later transitioned to a behind-the-scenes role in TNA before returning to WWE for a successful three-year stint.

While Mantell remained active on the independent circuit after his WWE run, he has refrained from returning to the ring. Recent fan inquiries about a potential comeback were met with a definitive “I’m done” from the legend, signifying a closed door on his in-ring career.

Health concerns, including a battle with sepsis after an infection, likely contributed to his decision. The good news is that Mantell appears to be in better health now. However, fans will undoubtedly miss seeing the iconic brawler in action.

Dutch Mantell’s retirement marks the end of an era for a true wrestling veteran. While his presence may be absent from the squared circle, his contributions to the industry and the careers of iconic stars will not be forgotten.
