On the Impact x Nightline: One Direction: Liam Payne’s Final Days show , an American witness staying at the CasaSur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina recounted the final moments of Liam Payne’s life.

“Liam Payne angrily smashed his laptop in the hotel lobby. He repeatedly went down to the lobby to cause trouble, then fainted before being helped back to his room by staff,” the witness said.

Another witness named Rebecca told the Daily Mail that Liam Payne was behaving strangely in the hotel lobby. The singer became angry and acted “like he was strangling” the woman he was staying with. Liam Payne then cursed and smashed his laptop right in the hotel lobby.
Esteban, the manager of the CasaSur Palermo hotel, called 911, asking for police to come and deal with the chaos. “There is a guest who is acting like he is high or drunk. He is destroying the room, causing chaos in the lobby, please send someone to deal with it,” Esteban told the authorities.
The hotel manager added that he feared the guest’s life was in danger because the room had a balcony.
When police arrived, the Night Changes singer fell from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room. Authorities confirmed that the male singer died at the scene due to a fractured skull and internal and external bleeding.
An autopsy revealed that Payne had used a variety of illegal substances, including cocaine, crack, benzodiazepines, and pink cocaine (a dangerous stimulant).
Liam Payne fell from the third floor of the hotel and died on the spot.
Police are investigating how Liam Payne purchased the drugs, most likely from hotel staff. According to TMZ , authorities hypothesize that staff secretly transported the drugs through a soap box found at the scene.
Prosecutors also called two women (believed to be prostitutes) who were with Liam Payne hours before the singer fell to his death.
Geoff Payne, Liam Payne’s father, is cooperating with Argentine authorities investigating Liam’s sudden death. “Geoff has expressed to the prosecutor that he is willing to testify about everything he knows about his son that could help the investigation,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
