Former coach Oleksandr Usyk emphasized 4 important rounds with Tyson Fury.
According to former coach Oleksandr Usyk, the first rounds will play a decisive role in the outcome of the match with Tyson Fury. Having previously unified all four belts in the cruiserweight division, Usyk is now aiming to assert his dominance in the heavyweight division. His former coach, Bashir, believes that both fighters need to establish control early to ensure victory.
“Throughout his training camp, I told him, ‘Whoever wins the first four rounds is guaranteed victory,’” he told BoxingScene.com.
“I expect Oleksandr Usyk to take advantage of his left hand. Tyson seemed susceptible to that particular punch when fighting Otto Wallin, so I’d use that strategy – lots of overhand shots from Usyk’s jab.
“He should stab Tyson in the chest, followed immediately by an upward jab with his left hand. If he can open up one of those cuts it will be a good thing for him, because it will slow Tyson down a bit – not to mention if he opens up a few of those cuts.
