Jake Paul’s antics during a face-off, which included making aggressive gestures and a finger gun motion at Tyson, drew widespread criticism from fans and fighters alike. Former UFC fighter Matt Brown was particularly critical, condemning Paul’s behavior as disrespectful.
Despite expressing admiration for Mike Tyson outside the ring, Paul has maintained a confrontational stance, vowing to knock out the former heavyweight champion.
Contrary to Paul’s aggressive approach, Tyson chose to defuse the tension with humor and a calm demeanor, even laughing off Paul’s provocations.
Brown hits out at Paul
This mature response highlighted Tyson’s experience and poise. Brown criticized Paul for his attempts to provoke Tyson, suggesting that Paul, who was not around during Tyson’s heyday, underestimated the former champion’s intensity.
Brown found Paul’s behavior during the face-off unacceptable and warned that provoking Tyson’s deep-seated instincts was risky.
“So cringe,” Brown said.
“Jake Paul trying to f***ing be hard on Mike Tyson. Jesus Christ. You can’t do that.
“For one, it’s Mike Tyson. For two you wouldn’t do that 20, 30 years ago when you we born- if you were an adult back then.
“You wouldn’t even have thought about it… If there’s one guy you don’t want to wake up the f**king savage killer inside, it’s Mike f***ing Tyson!”
