Usyk says these two fighters are the only thing that INTERESTS him before retiring: “I don’t want to fight anyone anymore”

Oleksandr Usyk has done it all in the sport of boxing.

An Olympic Gold Medalist at the 2012 Games, Usyk turned over to the paid ranks in 2013. He won his first cruiserweight world title against Krzysztof Głowacki in his tenth fight, unified against Mairis Briedis in his fourteenth and became undisputed against Murat Gassiev in his fifteenth.

He made one defence of his belts against Tony Bellew before moving up to heavyweight and beating, after two initial bouts, Anthony Joshua for three of the four major titles. ‘AJ’ failed to win them back in a rematch.

After stopping Daniel Dubois in his second defence, Usyk moved straight into the undisputed contest against then WBC Champion, Tyson Fury. Despite looking like he could be losing in the middle rounds, Usyk switched gears and hurt the heavyweight giant in the ninth, battering him around the ring to force a count from the referee. He won by split decision, becoming only the second man after Evander Holyfield to completely conquer the two divisions.

With the Fury rematch now set for December 21, the Ukrainian was recently asked by New Voice if there were any opponents left for him in the sport of boxing. He said that only Fury and Joshua interest him.

“Well, this is a rematch with Fury and possibly a third match with Joshua. Only with these two guys it is still interesting, from now on let the youth get fit and work … The logical line is that, apart from Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, I have no desire to box with anyone.”

Joshua faces newly-elevated IBF World Champion Daniel Dubois next month after Usyk vacated the belt. He will become a three-time heavyweight champion should he beat the younger man, and has eyes on the winner of Usyk-Fury 2 for undisputed.

Usyk has previously said that he would happily give ‘AJ’ a third shot at besting him because he appreciated that he was given the opportunity all way back in 2021.
