Tyson Fury made headlines this week for saying he lost to Oleksandr Usyk because was finding the contest ‘too easy.’

The Brit was knocked down in the ninth round before losing a split decision on the cards, crowning Usyk the first undisputed heavyweight champion in well over two decades.
It was a high-level affair with big shots and slick moves aplenty, but Fury this week said on the Furocity YouTube channel it was like fighting ‘a local amateur.’
“It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I was lighting him up with three and four punch combinations and laughing at him.
My problem was I probably had too much fun, it was probably too easy, at times it was too easy like I was in there with a local amateur boxer and I was enjoying it too much and messing around and you pay the ultimate price in round 9 where I got I got clipped and that’s what happens when you have too much fun.”
He remains adamant that he won the fight by four rounds. Commenting on the clip shared by Fury, the Ukrainian’s promoter Alex Krassyuk cast up an example of the fight most believed should have been the easiest of Fury’s career but ended up in one of the worst showings. He said:
“Second easiest fight after Ngannou.”
Krassyuk was ringside for Fury’s crossover bout with the former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou, and said it was a ‘stressful’ experience watching his man’s future opponent being dropped like that and scoring a victory that ‘was not very convincing.’
The Brit was criticised in the aftermath given Ngannou was a boxing novice and fighting his first professional fight after a successful campaign in the Octagon. Many fighters and pundits even said Fury should have lost it on the cards.
Fury and Usyk will run it back on December 21, when fans will whether or not ‘The Gypsy King’s comments are just bluster
