Tyson Fury ‘officially activates rematch clause with Oleksandr Usyk’ in the wake of his defeat in Saudi Arabia

**Tyson Fury Activates Rematch Clause, Prepares for Second Bout with Oleksandr Usyk**

Tyson Fury has officially activated the rematch clause to face Oleksandr Usyk again, as confirmed by Top Rank CEO Bob Arum. This upcoming clash is set to be the focus of the boxing world once more, following Usyk’s victory over Fury by split decision last weekend, making him the first boxer since Lennox Lewis in 1999 to unify the championship titles.

However, Usyk was at risk of being stripped of his IBF Championship as he was due to make a mandatory title defense against Croatian fighter Filip Hrgovic. The IBF granted Usyk an exemption, allowing him to retain his title for the rematch with Fury instead of being stripped for not facing his mandatory challenger.

Arum announced that the rematch is expected to take place either at the end of this year or early next year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This bout is not only a chance for Fury to reclaim what was lost but also an opportunity for Usyk to affirm his status as the undisputed heavyweight champion, a title he secured after beating Anthony Joshua in September 2021 and successfully defended in a rematch a year later.

Meanwhile, Hrgovic will have his own fight next weekend, facing England’s Daniel Dubois at the same venue in Saudi Arabia where Usyk claimed his victory.

The rematch between Fury and Usyk is more than just a boxing match; it’s a battle of wits and strategy between two champions. The world is eagerly awaiting to see whether Fury can regain his glory or if Usyk will continue to dominate the ring with his intelligent tactics and skilled performance.
