Piers Morgan disclosed that Tyson Fury never delivered the £1 million owed to him following a substantial bet. The 59-year-old television presenter had placed the seven-figure wager when Fury, aged 35, announced his retirement after defeating Dillian Whyte in 2022.
Morgan bet that the Morecambe boxer wouldn’t remain retired for long, and indeed, The Gypsy King returned to the ring just eight months later for a trilogy bout against Derek Chisora. Despite initially agreeing to pay Morgan in coins, Fury opted to retain both his wealth and his dignity after an unexpected turn of events.
Although the boxer, a father of seven, stood to earn well beyond £1 million from future fights by not retiring, it was Morgan who ultimately chose to overlook the matter.
