Truмp Pushes Back On Federal Judges Halting Deportation Efforts

In his statements at the White House, Trump criticized the decision, asserting, ‘You cannot conduct trials for all these individuals,’ referring to the millions of undocumented migrants in the country, many of whom were allowed entry by his predecessor, Joe Biden.

‘I hope we receive cooperation from the judiciary, as we have thousands of individuals prepared for removal, and it is impractical to hold trials for all of them,’ Trump remarked. ‘The system was not designed for this, and we believe there is no provision that mandates such a process.’

Trump further emphasized, ‘We are encountering numerous dangerous individuals, including killers, murderers, drug traffickers, and those suffering from severe mental health issues,’ indicating that it could take decades to resolve the millions of pending cases.

‘A judge cannot dictate that we must conduct trials that will extend over two years. Our nation will become exceedingly perilous if we are not permitted to execute our rightful duties. I was elected on the promise of removing these individuals,’ Trump concluded.

His border enforcement chief, Tom Homan, echoed similar sentiments during a recent interview with Fox News, as reported by Dailymail.com. Homan noted that many, if not the majority, of the undocumented migrants targeted by the Department of Homeland Security for deportation have already appeared in immigration courts and possess outstanding deportation orders. He specifically referenced Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the ‘Maryland man’ who has become a focal point for Democrats after his deportation to El Salvador earlier this month.

The U.S. Supreme Court has since mandated the administration to ‘facilitate’ his return, despite two prior court rulings identifying him as a member of the MS-13 gang, which Trump has labeled a threat.

Homan asserted that due process was upheld in the case of the Maryland father, an MS-13 terrorist who was deported after being evaluated by two separate immigration judges.

He also countered U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis’s remarks regarding the government’s alleged lack of good faith, which she described as ‘willful and intentional noncompliance,’ and is considering whether to hold the attorneys in contempt of court.

Homan defended the removal of the MS-13 gang member, labeling him a public safety threat and a designated terrorist, while noting that he had received due process.

Furthermore, he criticized the Biden administration for overwhelming the immigration system by permitting a surge of illegal immigration, suggesting that they anticipate a prolonged court process, hoping for a shift in administration.

In a related development, Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the Court’s liberal justices in a recent immigration ruling that may influence future cases. The 5-4 decision in Monsalvo Velazquez v.

Bondi addressed the federal government’s interpretation of a 60-day ‘voluntary departure’ period, allowing certain immigrants with ‘good moral character’ to leave the U.S. voluntarily.

The Court determined that if the deadline falls on a weekend or federal holiday, it should be extended to the next business day. Gorsuch, writing for the majority, noted that this interpretation aligns with established administrative practices in immigration law.
