Triple H recently shared the challenges he and The Rock faced in persuading The Undertaker to participate in WrestleMania 40. According to him, getting the legendary wrestler on board was no easy task.
“It took us forever to get The Undertaker to do WrestleMania 40. The Rock had to call him. Everybody had to call him to get him to finally agree to do it,” Triple H explained. The Undertaker, known for his larger-than-life persona, had firmly decided to step away from the ring following his retirement.
“When he retired, he wanted to be done. He didn’t come out with the hat and jacket. He was like, ‘The hat and jacket are retired. I’ll come out as me, but I’m not coming out as Undertaker,’” Triple H recalled. The Phenom’s iconic entrance and persona were pivotal to his identity, but it seemed he was ready to leave it all in the past.
Triple H also revealed that The Undertaker was genuinely intent on moving on. “He honestly just wanted it to be over already,” he admitted. Despite this, the combined efforts of his peers, including The Rock, ultimately convinced The Undertaker to make one more appearance, creating immense anticipation for WrestleMania 40.
The inclusion of The Undertaker in the upcoming event marks a significant moment for wrestling fans, as they prepare to witness the return of one of WWE’s most celebrated figures—albeit on his own terms.
