Now, above his number 12 on the Madrid shirt, it won’t read ‘Alexander-Arnold’ but simply ‘Trent.’

This prompted him to explain his intriguing choice at a press conference: “It’s quite simple. When I travel across Europe, I’ve always noticed that my name and surname confuse many people.

“I get called Arnold, Alexander, Alex, or Trent. So I thought, let’s simplify it. Trent on the back, I’ll be known as Trent, it’s my name, so that’s what they’ll call me,” he concluded.
