Dmitry Bivol‘s ex-wife Ekaterina has been at the center of criticism since a clip went viral yesterday where she was seen celebrating Artur Beterbiev‘s victory alongside MMA fighter Artem Tarasov on his livestream. Fans and boxers like Claressa Shields criticized her for the jubilant outburst. Social media was flooded by people calling her names, with some even terming her celebration of Bivol’s loss as “evil.”
But it seems like Ekaterina remains unaffected despite the criticism. She is getting more and more brutal with her accusations. A day after the undisputed light heavyweight championship fight, Ekaterina broke her silence and replied to all her critics questioning her joy in watching Dmitry Bivol take a loss.
Has this gone too far?
After the fight, several video compilations took over social media featuring Ekaterina and her live-stream reaction. Being aware of the fact, Kate Bivol shared one such edit on her Instagram and stated that she was aware of the 23-1 boxer’s desire to conquer the division and how devastated he must be following the loss. She then once again stated that it was Dmitry Bivol’s karma that led him to lose the fight as she termed the 33-year-old a “child traitor.” “I know how bad he feel. He dreamed of becoming an absolute champion and leave without any defeat. But child traitors do not win such principal fights,” read the English translation in her Instagram story.
She uploaded another story on her Instagram account, where she addressed the criticism directly. Ekaterina stated in the captions, “He did not lose to me. Let them celebrate their downfall. Those jackals will kill him. I have said it many times, one year before this most important battle.” Ekaterina was adamant that it was not because of her but because of Bivol’s dishonest acts that he ended up losing his fight.
She further added, “Now he is not a champion. And thank god for everything, his jackals has already killed him.”As for who she is referring to as “Jackals”? It’s not clear. One possibility may be that she is referring to Bivol’s parents as Ekaterina has already filed a lawsuit against her in-laws alleging fraud, and manipulation to seize her rightful property.
The 34-year-old had claimed that Dmitry Bivol’s parents had fraudulently taken the rightful property that she acquired after marrying Bivol. This case increased the tension between the ex couple’s family, as Ekaterina also alleged mistreatment by his parents during and after the marriage.
The duo is set to undergo a trial very soon as the ex-couple is currently having a dispute regarding alimony, and the matter is now already in court.
Dmitry Bivol’s upcoming legal battle
A few weeks ago, Ekaterina revealed that she never came out with the truth because of her sons. But now that she has won the custody battle, she has nothing to be afraid of and accused Dmitry Bivol of financial neglect. She added that the California resident only pays “$1,100 per month for both kids,” and further accused the latter of having several hidden foreign bank accounts.
It has been an ugly separation so far and things are only going from bad to worse as an official court hearing nears. Earlier, it looked like the duo were ready to settle this dispute outside court and through arbitration, but in the latest viral clip, Ekaterina made it clear that she would now go to court.
