Eddie Hearn has disclosed that Anthony Joshua is positioned to contend against the victor of the Tyson Fury versus Oleksandr Usyk rematch for the undisputed heavyweight title, even if Fury were to secure vengeance, potentially leading to a trilogy.
Joshua’s most recent bout was in March, where he delivered a brutal second-round knockout to Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia. Presently, he appears primed to face Daniel Dubois, who recently claimed the IBF “interim” belt by stopping Filip Hrgovic due to cuts, in a showdown at Wembley scheduled for September. Should Joshua emerge unscathed, he will be slated to face either Fury or Usyk, who are set for a rematch in December.
Speaking to The Sun, Hearn remarked, “I anticipate the winner of the December bout to face Anthony Joshua, provided he emerges victorious in September.”
