Fury experienced his first and only professional defeat against the Ukrainian last month, resulting in the loss of his WBC belt. Many remember Fury’s remarkable victory over Klitschko, another Ukrainian, where he defied the odds to claim the WBA, IBF, WBO, and Ring Magazine titles.
His uncle, Peter Fury, served as his cornerman during that memorable night against Klitschko. Reflecting on Fury’s recent loss to Usyk, Peter believes Tyson failed to leverage his size effectively.
“It was a decent fight, and Tyson gave it his all. You can’t fault his effort. Usyk is an exceptional champion; I’ve always rated him highly. He’s undoubtedly the toughest opponent Tyson has faced, and it was a close bout.
In my view, Tyson didn’t capitalize on his physical advantages. There were flaws in his approach, in my opinion. I think the tactics and gameplan were off, but that’s just how I see it. Nonetheless, it was an entertaining fight, and both fighters performed admirably.”
