In a recent interview with People magazine, Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke out about his extramarital affair with the longtime family housekeeper, Mildred Baena, emphasizing that his love for his ex-wife will endure despite the changed nature of their relationship. 

The revelation of Schwarzenegger’s affair with Baena in 2011 shook Hollywood and significantly impacted the actor’s image as a renowned Hollywood star and ambitious politician. The scandal led to the immediate dissolution of Schwarzenegger’s marriage to journalist Maria Shriver. The affair, along with the fact that Schwarzenegger fathered a child with Baena, remained hidden from the public eye for many years.

It wasn’t until 2011, when Schwarzenegger’s son with Baena, Joseph Baena, turned 14, that the affair came to light. Given Schwarzenegger’s status as a public figure and his pursuit of a political career, the private matter garnered considerable attention from the media and the American public. Unable to withstand the public scrutiny, Schwarzenegger and Shriver’s marriage ultimately crumbled.

However, in the recent interview, Schwarzenegger asserted, “We didn’t have any painful breakup or conflicts. We didn’t argue over what happened. What happened was just a mistake on my part.”

Schwarzenegger and Shriver were married for 25 years before announcing their separation due to Schwarzenegger’s extramarital affair, which caused a tabloid frenzy. Notably, just five days after Shriver gave birth to their youngest son, Christopher, Baena also gave birth to their son, Joseph.
