The mystery of Peru’s ‘alien mummy’ is clear: DNA analysis shows it is not human

The case of the mysterious ‘extraterrestrial mummy’ from Peru continues to be clarified after the discovery of two other mummies with similar morphological characteristics called Paloma and Antonio.

The mummies are believed to have been found in the Nazca Desert, where the first mummies were discovered seven years ago by journalist and UFO researcher Jaime Maussan.

Paloma and Antonio have three fingers like the previous mummies, but they have small, slanted eyes and are described as being the size of “a short adult.”

Recently, Dr. David Ruiz Vela, former president of the Peruvian Medical Association, analyzed the mummies and determined that they had human-like organs with visible brain structures. Dr. Ruiz confirmed that Antonio was stabbed in the chest, while Paloma showed evidence of hair, a first among mummies. Both are believed to be 1,500 years old.

Researchers believe the bodies were fossilized by algae, which preserved them, along with a highly toxic glue “unlike the glues of the time.”

Maussan exhibited about a dozen of these bodies, many of them before the Mexican Congress as evidence that aliens had once visited Earth. Although Maussan stands by his claims, experts still believe these mummies are simply dolls made by grave robbers.

In 2018, a year after the discovery was announced, scientists concluded from at least four independent analyses of DNA samples and other mummy materials that the mummies were pre-Columbian and had been modified. But these claims did not stop Maussan and other researchers from continuing to pursue their goals.

These latest discoveries are unlike any previous mummy Maussan had found. Paloma and Antonio differ in facial features and size, along with the injuries found on Antonio. “She suffered a rib fracture on the left side of the thorax, passing through the thorax, abdomen, liver and completely perforated inside,” said Dr. Ruiz Vela in a video. He believes Paloma could live up to 60 years. “It is the first time we have found a dry body with hair, the hair has a coppery color,” explained Dr. Ruiz Vela.

Jois Mantilla, a journalist dedicated to proving that these mummies are real, said that “more information will be revealed in 2025” about these creatures, especially the secret location where the mummies were found. The site has been kept secret from the public to prevent looters, researchers say.

Mantilla said the mummies found earlier had four different types of DNA, including one Asian mummy, two African ape mummies and one unidentified mummy. “Maybe the unidentified DNA is what causes it to have the three-fingered characteristic,” he said.

‘I have a hypothesis that this DNA is the DNA of their creators. We humans do not have the technological capacity to combine DNA, nor can we with all the money in the world mix an ape, a chimpanzee with a human.’  Mantilla later claimed that the creatures were created in a laboratory at least 1,800 years ago.

A recent image analysis of one of the humanoid creatures named ‘Maria’ shows that it shares biological similarities with humans, but has ‘many morphological and anatomical differences’. The creature’s bones were observed to flow smoothly beneath the mummified shell, as a human body would, and its elongated skull showed no signs of artificial cranial deformation.

The team was also able to date the mummy to between 240 and 383 AD, “suggesting that it coexisted with the ancient Nazca civilization,” they shared in the study.

The team performed an examination using a magnifying glass, which allowed them to look inside, and saw that the mummy had no hair or external ears, only openings for the ear canals.

The study, published in the Journal of Social and Environmental Management, notes: “The most notable feature of the skull is its significant elongation, with no signs of skull compression by external agents.” “Specifically, the cranial vault exhibits abnormal growth and development, similar to the elongated head phenotype. “In addition, the skull volume is 30 percent larger than that of a normal human.” Internal scans of the creature showed it had bulging eyes and prominent upper and lower jaws.

Maussan turned the Mexican Congress into a circus when he brought in two mummies to argue that they did not belong to this world. He led a team of researchers to perform DNA analysis on the statues and found that 30% “did not belong to any known species” and declared the statues to be “authentic” and consisted of a single skeleton.

Maussan says the statues were carbon-dated by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), which determined the bodies had three-fingered hands, were toothless and were more than 1,000 years old.  “These specimens are not part of our terrestrial evolution. They are not creatures found after a UFO crash,”  Maussan told parliament in September.  “They were found in diatom deposits and then fossilised.”  He later added:  “We don’t know if they are extraterrestrial or not, but they are intelligent and live among us.” “We are not alone in this vast universe; we must accept this reality.”

Maussan brought with him a team of medical experts who carried a letter signed by 11 researchers from the National University of San Luis Gonzaga in Ica, Peru, stating the following.

“There was absolutely no human intervention in the physical and biological formation of these creatures,”  anthropologist Roger Zúniga of the National University of San Luis Gonzaga in Ica, Peru, said Tuesday.

However, the letter makes clear that the group is not suggesting the bodies are “extraterrestrial,” but it does not answer questions about their origin.

Argentine surgeon Celestino Adolfo Piotto also testified, saying he had examined the results of tests performed on the bodies and made the bizarre argument that “they were evolved versions of present-day humans,” calling them “our descendants.”

But UFO researcher Will Galison, a close friend of the archaeologist who first investigated the alleged aliens, said he believes the “corpses” are 1,000-year-old mannequins.

Galison said they were likely made from animal remains millennia ago, possibly for ritual purposes, and that the heads bore a “striking resemblance” to an alpaca skull.
