On October 1, 1908, Ford’s first Model T car completed its final stages at the Piquette Avenue factory in Detroit, USA. The company produced about 15 million Model T cars between 1908 and 1927. During the years of production, Model T always held sales records and it was not until 45 years later that the Volkswagen Beetle could breakable.

Before the Model T came along, there were other luxury cars, and by early 1908 there were about 200,000 cars on the road. Although the Model T was a bit expensive at first, it was a car model designed to serve everyone’s daily travel needs. Equipped with a 22-horsepower, four-cylinder engine and a body made from tempered steel, the Model T was lighter and stiffer than previous vehicles. The car can reach speeds of more than 60km/h and is capable of running on gasoline or ethanol for more economy.

Innovation and Breakthrough
To increase competitiveness, Ford has reduced costs per product and optimized productivity by focusing on only one product line. Engineers had the idea of ​​creating a system of replaceable parts to avoid waste and save time, while also helping non-professional workers to easily assemble the vehicle. As a result, before 1914, production lines could turn out thousands of cars per week. By 1924, workers at the River Rouge Ford factory in Dearborn, Michigan, USA could produce more than 10,000 Model T chassis in a day.

Change Over Time
By the 1920s, consumer needs changed, they wanted faster, more eye-catching and luxurious cars. Facing the development of advanced car models, Ford stopped Model T production on May 26, 1927.
