Aryna Sabalenka encourages Iga Świątek and Sinner and asks the CEO to forgive them

Amid the scandal that has rocked the tennis world following doping accusations against Iga Świątek and her partner, tennis player Jannik Sinner, Aryna Sabalenka has come to their defense, sending a message of support to them and to the CEO of the Australian Open, asking for understanding and forgiveness.

At a recent press conference, Sabalenka said:   “We all make mistakes, but we must not forget that Iga and Jannik are young people with a bright future ahead of them. I am sure that they have learned from this experience and will do everything possible to clear their name and prove that they are worthy representatives of our sport.”

The Belarusian also made a direct appeal to the tournament’s general director, asking him to show more understanding:   “I know this is a delicate situation, but I think everyone deserves a second chance. As players, we live under constant pressure and sometimes bad decisions can happen in moments of weakness. I hope the tournament will show compassion and allow Iga and Jannik to continue competing while trying to overcome this challenge.”

Sabalenka’s comments sparked a wave of reactions on social media. While some welcomed her supportive stance, others said such situations should be dealt with more harshly to preserve the integrity of the sport.

Świątek and Sinner have not made any public statements since the allegations came to light, but are expected to issue an official statement in the coming days. Meanwhile, the tennis world remains divided, with some supporting the players and others calling for exemplary sanctions.
