Novak Djokovic has voiced strong concerns about the ongoing Jannik Sinner doping case, stating that it is causing significant damage to the sport of tennis. Djokovic made these remarks just minutes before Sinner’s defeat to Carlos Alcaraz in the China Open.

Sinner, who recently claimed the US Open title, tested positive for an anabolic steroid on two separate occasions in March. However, an independent tribunal cleared him of any wrongdoing, citing that the substance entered his system inadvertently. According to the tribunal, the banned steroid was transferred via a massage from Sinner’s physiotherapist, who had applied a spray to a cut on their finger.
