In an interview in Australia, Denzel Washington quietly announces his retirement

A surprise that many might not have anticipated was included in Denzel Washington’s recent announcement of a series of new projects.
After completing his final film projects, Denzel Washington, 69, is preparing to leave Hollywood, marking the end of a career that has spanned decades. “I don’t know how many more movies I’m going to make,” Washington said in an interview with Australia’s Today show . “Probably not many.”
One of his next projects is to reprise his role as Othello, a role he first played at the age of 22. “I’m going to play Othello at the age of 70,” revealed the two-time Oscar-winning actor.

He has also hinted that he will be working with Ryan Coogler, who is reportedly developing a role for him in the upcoming Black Panther film , and Steve McQueen.
Washington has said, “After that, I’m going to retire,” after mentioning projects like King Lear . The TV movie Wilma launched Washington’s career in 1977. Her film debut came in 1981’s Carbon Copy .
Since then, he has established himself as one of Hollywood’s most admired actors, thanks to his iconic roles in films such as Malcolm X , Training Day and Glory .
His work has consistently demonstrated his talent and passion, earning him a wealth of praise and awards. Washington revealed earlier this year his desire to be a part of Gladiator II .
“I have to be inspired by the filmmaker because there aren’t many movies left that I’m really interested in making,” the actor said.
