Shocking moment Eagles star Darius Slay lands punch on rival sparking mass on-field brawl
The Philadelphia Eagles hosted the Pittsburgh Steelers in one of the NFL’s most gritty rivalries Sunday, and it didn’t take long for tensions to boil over.
In the first quarter of the Week 15 bust-up, the two teams came to blows when a mass brawl broke out in the endzone.
The punches started flying after Steelers tight end Darnell Washington blocked Eagles cornerback Darius Slay all the way into the padding behind the uprights.
Furious at the block, Slay decided to hit back at the 6-foot-7, 264-pound Steelers star by swinging at him.
Slay’s punch landed smack on Washington’s face, before he came out swinging a few more times at his opponent, reversing their positions and backing him into the barriers in front of the stands.
In an attempt to defend their teammate, Steelers players quickly swarmed the duo before the Eagles swiftly joined in, sparking a mass riot in the endzone.

Referees immediately intervened, ultimately managing to separate the brawling NFL players.
After officials defuse the situation, Steelers wideout was assessed an unnecessary roughness penalty for shoving Eagles rookie Cooper DeJean.
Pittsburgh was then slapped with a 14-yard penalty, which saw them pushed back to the within in the 20.
The drive, spearheaded by Russell Wilson, ultimately ended in a game-tying field goal from Chris Boswell.
However, the Eagles soared ahead from there, going on to seal a 27-13 victory over Pittsburgh.
Jalen Hurts threw touchdown passes to AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith to mute scrutiny of the Eagles’ offense, and Philadelphia won its franchise-record 10th straight game.
