SH0CKING NEWS: FIA Announces Penalties for Norris and Verstappen for 2024 Season Finale

As the 2024 Formula 1 season enters its final stretch, the FIA has confirmed that both Lando Norris and Max Verstappen will face penalties due to engine changes. These penalties come at a crucial time, with only six Grands Prix and three sprint races left, and every point vital in the championship race.

The FIA revealed that Max Verstappen, who has already used five power units this season, will incur a grid penalty ii Red Bull decides to install a sixth power unit. “The regulations are clear. Verstappen has exceeded the limit, and should another change occur, he will receive a five-place grid penalty,” the FIA stated.

Similarly, Lando Norris has also reached the maximum number of power units allowed without incurring penalties. McLaren has remained cautious about confirming any upcoming changes, but the FIA reiterated that any additional engine use would result in penalties. “The integrity of the regulations must be maintained, and any violations regarding power units will result in penalties as outlined in the rulebook,” added the FIA. As the season intensifies, these penalties could significantly impact the title race.
