At the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of her new docuseries “In the Arena: Serena Williams,” tennis legend Serena Williams, 42, reflected on balancing her competitive drive with being a devoted mother to daughters Adira, 9 months, and Olympia, 6½, with husband Alexis Ohanian, 41.
When asked how she satisfies her competitive nature while juggling motherhood, Williams emphasized her commitment to parenting: “You don’t and I can’t. I have to be the best mom,” she told PEOPLE. Williams makes it a priority to attend all of Olympia’s school events, stressing her dedication to being present.
In addition to her role as a mother, Williams channels her competitive energy into her beauty brand, Wyn, which focuses on active beauty and supports women and people of color. “I invest in women. I invest in people of Color and that is very competitive,” she noted.
