Ryan Garcia is considered “a troubled prodigy” and will return to the ring for the first time in almost a year after losing his unbeaten record to Gervonta Davis. His next challenge on April 20 will be just as tough: Devin Haney.Ahead of the fight, ‘King Ry’ posted a heartfelt message of thanks to Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez for his support early in his career, after their paths parted in an unfortunate way
Until the pandemic, Garcia trained with Eddy Reynoso, claiming he “felt abandoned” amid a series of erratic behaviours that have complicated his growth in boxing.
However, for some time now, Garcia has once again joined the ‘Canelo Team’ fold and gave a heartfelt thanks for the support he has received from the undisputed super middleweight champion: “No amount of hate can separate our Mexican Bond @canelo @pesopluma,” he wrote on his Instagram account.
“Thank you canelo for all the lessons and teachings you gave me. Also thank you to @caneloteam for all the training you helped me with forever grateful and I’m thankful! From the bottom of my soul.”
He even gave a shout out to Peso Pluma, adding: “Thanks for showing me love bro appreciate you. You supported me thru twitter checking in on me and I’m grateful for that. God bless you.”
Finally, he promised to bring the WBC title back to Mexico and make his

Following the message, Canelo Alvarez expressed his concern and stated that Garcia should not be allowed to fight: “As his friend, or like when we trained together. I wouldn’t let him fight. The only thing I wish right now is that he has people to help him, because he needs it, without judging him. I don’t know what’s wrong with him, but I hope he has someone.”
However, he responded to the post with two sentences of unconditional support for his training partner.
“Just focus and win. You know I love you boy” and “Come on shock the world ‘m’ijo!”
