Roy Jones Jr Didn’t Hesitate When Asked Who Wins A Lennox Lewis vs Tyson Fury Fight

Lennox Lewis and Tyson Fury are two of the best heavyweights of their respective eras.

Lewis was, for more than two decades, the last undisputed heavyweight champion. He fought until 2004 and ended his career with a win after a tough battle with Vitali Klitschko having beaten every man he faced.

There were bumps along the way however as he was twice knocked out by betting underdogs Hasim Rahman and Oliver McCall but managed to avenge both defeats with stoppage wins of his own.

He also had famous fights with Evander Holyfield and knocked out Mike Tyson in 2002, as well as beating British favourite Frank Bruno, all after having won a gold medal in the super-heavyweight division at the 1988 Olympics.

Two-time champion Fury was unbeaten going into his undisputed showdown with Oleksandr Usyk back in May but came out on the wrong side of a points decision after 12 close rounds. Mightily tall, rangey and awkward, Fury is a fan-favourite for fantasy fights against the more traditional heavyweights from the history books.

Speaking to Mail Sport Boxing, former multi-weight world champion Roy Jones Jnr was asked to pick between Lewis and Fury if they were to fight in their prime and he went with ‘the pugilist specialist’, Lennox Lewis.

The Hall of Fame heavyweight himself has also recently been asked his take on the fantasy fight, saying that him in with Fury would play out like the Bruno bout and end in a big finish.

Fury has a very real fight ahead of him in the form of Usyk on December 21, hoping to take a leaf from ‘The Lion’s perfect rematch record to get the win.
