At the recent Fury-Usyk boxing match, two football icons, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar, crossed paths and exchanged greetings. The highly anticipated bout took place on May 18, with Fury and Usyk contending for the title of the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 2000, in the era of four-belt dominance. The event unfolded at the Kingdom Arena Stadium in Saudi Arabia.
Both Ronaldo and Neymar, currently playing for Al Nassr and Al Hilal respectively in the Saudi Pro League, seized the opportunity to attend the monumental fight. According to The Sun, Neymar approached CR7, and the two shared words, handshakes, and hugs during the event.
In this season’s Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo showcased remarkable form, netting 33 goals in 29 matches but fell short as Al Nassr finished second behind Neymar’s Al Hilal. Neymar, however, didn’t play a significant role in Al Hilal’s title triumph due to an injury that sidelined him since the season’s start. Consequently, the Brazilian star is expected to miss the upcoming Copa America this summer.
Returning to the boxing showdown, after 12 intense rounds, Usyk emerged victorious over Fury with a unanimous decision. The Ukrainian boxer etched his name in history by becoming the first-ever holder of the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO, and The Ring heavyweight titles. Usyk’s undefeated streak extends to 22 matches, with 14 victories by knockout. On the contrary, this defeat marks Fury’s first professional loss after an undefeated streak of 35 fights.
