Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Argentine star Franco Mastantuono, with the young talent set to join the club on August 14th, when he comes of age.
The deal, worth €63.2 million, marks the largest transfer in Argentine football history.
According to reports, River Plate will receive €45 million, the amount stipulated in Mastantuono’s buyout clause, while the remaining €18.2 million will be distributed among various parties, including taxes, the Argentine Football Players’ Association, and structural funds.
The signing makes Mastantuono Real Madrid’s biggest acquisition this winter transfer window, surpassing Dean Huijsen’s €58 million deal.
The young Argentine will join the Santiago Bernabéu squad and is set to wear the iconic white jersey starting August 14th, with his contract running until 2031.
