Cora Schumacher, the ex-wife of former Formula 1 star Ralf Schumacher, has opened up about her feelings of betrayal after Ralf came out as gay in July. The couple, who were married for 14 years and share a son, David, separated in 2015. Ralf, brother of F1 legend Michael Schumacher, announced his relationship with French business manager Etienne on social media, which came as a shock to Cora.

Cora revealed that she learned of Ralf’s relationship with Etienne through social media and expressed her disappointment at not being informed personally. She stated, “I wish Ralf had included me or at least let me be part of his decision. It would have been a sign of respect.”

Reflecting on their marriage, Cora claimed that she now questions whether Ralf truly loved her and feels that she was psychologically manipulated. She shared that during Ralf’s F1 career, there were rumors about his sexuality, but he always denied them, leaving her feeling confused and dismissed.

Cora expressed that Ralf’s coming out felt like “a stab in the heart” and that it has led her to question the sincerity of their marriage. “I feel used during the marriage. I feel like I’ve wasted my best years,” she said, adding that she trusted Ralf blindly during their relationship.

Despite the challenges, their son David has publicly supported his father, stating that he is “100 percent behind” him and is happy that Ralf has found someone with whom he feels comfortable and secure.
