This spiritual guidance could be influencing the King’s inclination toward reconciliation. Nelson notes, “The advice from the Church of England is big on forgiveness — forgive Harry, just bring him back into the fold.”

Despite this, Nelson also highlighted the difficulties in resolving such deep-rooted conflicts, suggesting that even if the King is ready to forgive, other family members might not share the same sentiment. This skepticism is fueled by concerns over privacy and trust, especially after Harry’s memoir, Spare, which contained personal revelations about family members.

Nelson points out, “If it is mendable, who would be in a better position to mend it than their father? However, Harry also has to get his act together, so it works both ways.”

Notably, Harry’s description of Queen Camilla as his “wicked stepmother” and Meghan’s comments in the Oprah Winfrey interview about concerns raised over their son Archie’s skin color have deepened the divide.

A source close to the royal family mentioned to The Sunday Times that there’s a prevailing fear among family members about speaking openly with Harry, concerned that any conversation might appear in a future memoir. “The King’s capacity to forgive his son is undimmed. However, other members of the royal family are much more weighted against Harry,” the source added, highlighting the complex emotional landscape.
