Plain White T’s React To ‘Wah Gwan Delilah’ – Snowd4y and Drake’s Parody of ‘Hey There Delilah’
Chicago rock band Plain White T’s have responded to Snowd4y Drake’s parody song ‘Hey There Delilah’. See what the band had to say below.
Earlier this week, Toronto rapper Snowd4y (pronounced Snowday) shared a remix/cover of Plain White T’s “Hey There Delilah” with a verse from Drake. The song – now released exclusively via SoundCloud – sees the two rappers rework Plain White T’s original song into a parody-style version, with humorous lyrics and loads of autotune.
Now, Plain White T’s have shared on social media their reaction to hearing the song for the first time. With a puzzled look on his face, band leader Tom Higgenson said upon hearing Drake’s verse: “That’s not Drake. It’s crazy that everyone thinks it’s true. It seems very clear. I do not know. But it’s great. Whatever.”
Higgenson’s reaction seems to indicate he believes the song was created by AI. However, after the song was released, Drake shared it to his Instagram story, confirming that he was involved in the tune.
‘Wah Gwan Delilah’ marks Drake’s second release since his last rap beef with Kendrick Lamar dropped throughout April and May. In late May, The Canadian rapper appeared on Sexxy Red’s track ‘U My Everything’.
“U My Everything” is the first material recorded by Drake since the release of “The Heart Part 6,” which seemingly stopped the intense and infectious back-and-forth between him and Kendrick Lamar.
