Pedri Expresses Gratitude to Toni Kroos

Despite being sidelined for the rest of EURO 2024 due to a knee injury, Spanish midfielder Pedri has extended his thanks to Toni Kroos for his well-wishes.

Previously, the German midfielder had wished Pedri a speedy recovery and clarified that he had no intention of playing dirty. Toni Kroos’s tackle had resulted in Pedri suffering a sprained knee, forcing him to bid farewell to EURO 2024. Despite his injury, the Barcelona player remains with the Spanish national team to support his teammates.

In a recent social media post, Pedri conveyed his message to Kroos, who has officially retired following Germany’s exit from the tournament: “Thank you, Toni Kroos, for your message. Football is like this, and these things can happen. Your career and records will always be remembered.”

Pedri also provided an update on his condition: “I came to Germany for EURO and will stay here until the end because the dream – without a doubt – continues. This is a time for me to be more positive and continue supporting the team in a different way. Thank you for your words of encouragement.

The worst moment has passed, and I am in the process of recovering as quickly as possible to return to Barcelona.”

In the semi-finals, Spain will face France without Pedri’s services. The other semi-final match will be between England and the Netherlands.
