Oleksandr Usyk REACTS b.r.u.t.ally to Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight, “It’s A Big Show”

Mike Tyson versus Jake Paul has generated as many headlines as any fight in recent times despite not yet having happened.

This coming together of an all-time boxing legend and still new professional has divided opinion in the sport.

Many worry for the safety of the younger man when coming up against a fighter who was once the most dangerous on the planet, while others fear for the health of an almost 58-year-old who hasn’t fought professional in over twenty years and recently had a medical issue that delayed the original fight by some four months.

Paul has beaten all of the men he has faced bar one, Tommy Fury, though the level of opposition has been carefully selected and includes plenty of older combatants or inexperienced boxers. Most recently he stopped bare-knuckle and former UFC favourite Mike Perry in the fifth round to extend his record to 11 wins and one loss.

Tyson meanwhile last fought an exhibition two years ago against Roy Jones Jr and before that, it was two decades ago that he was last in the ring and taking the final loss of his professional career.

The current undisputed heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk, has been speaking to Seconds Out about the fight. He considers it just a show but doesn’t have a problem with it.

“Listen, listen, it just show, Tyson is big famous man in all the world. Jake Paul is young guy who wanna box, who wanna help young guys, but it’s a show. It’s a big show. If people wanna see a show, OK. For me, listen, for me, I think it’s OK.”

Usyk will soon head into camp for a rematch with Tyson Fury in defence of his WBA, WBC, WBO, Lineal and Ring Magazine titles having beaten ‘The Gypsy King’ back in May.
