Oleksandr Usyk has fought and beaten both Daniel Dubois and Tyson Fury.
The Ukrainian southpaw took on British puncher Dubois back in August of 2023. It was the second defence of the three world titles he won off Anthony Joshua and defended in an immediate rematch.
Dubois did well early in the fight and landed a shot that had the champion down on the canvas, though it was later and rather controversially ruled to be a low blow. Usyk went on to regain his composure and stop Dubois in the ninth round.
Back in May, it was Fury who entered the ring for his attempt at being the first to beat Usyk. The former undisputed cruiserweight champion again came out on top, imposing himself in the 9th round in particular with a flurry of punches that led Fury to be given a standing count and eventually lose on points.
Usyk was recently asked whether Fury hit harder than Dubois by DAZN and didn’t hesitate.
“No.”
Fury and Usyk will rematch this weekend when three of the four world title belts will be on the line out in Saudi Arabia. Fury has promised to be more aggressive and vowed to knockout his man, which is what he has done in previous rematches with the likes of Deontay Wilder.
Dubois, meanwhile, will defend the IBF title against Joseph Parker in February next year. and then possibly look to go into an undisputed contest with the winner of this weekend’s heavyweight rematch after Usyk has said he will not yet be ready to retire. He is coming off the back of a career-best win of Joshua in which he scored the stoppage in round 5, adding the 21st knockout to his 24-fight record.
