Nadal and Alcaraz Showcase High Level at Olympics, “Bull” Complains About Schedule

In their opening men’s doubles match at the 2024 Olympics, Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz faced the Argentine duo of Gonzalez and Molteni. The match proved to be a tough contest, particularly in the first set, which was decided by a tense tie-break. Nadal and Alcaraz emerged victorious with a 7-4 score in the tie-break.

In the second set, the Spanish pair managed to break their opponents’ serve twice, avoiding another tie-break and winning 6-4 to close the match in straight sets. Despite this being their first doubles match together, Nadal and Alcaraz displayed excellent chemistry, akin to long-time partners.

The Spanish tennis team had a successful day, with Alcaraz also winning his singles match against Habib with a score of 6-3, 6-1.

Nadal is scheduled to play his first singles match against Marton Fucsovics today (July 28). However, he expressed concerns about the scheduling: “They asked me to play at 2 PM the next day (local time), while I finished the doubles match at 10 PM today. For me, that’s unreasonable. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to play against Fucsovics.”

If Nadal wins against Fucsovics, he will face Novak Djokovic in the next round. When asked by a reporter if he is ready for what could be the last epic clash with Djokovic, Nadal humorously replied, “Who dares to say this will be the last match between us?”
