Mike Tyson and Jake Paul faced off in a joint press conference in New York City on Sunday, August 18, ahead of their upcoming fight scheduled for November 15. Originally slated for July 20, the bout was postponed due to Tyson’s health issues related to an ulcer flare-up.

Tyson, 58, known as “Iron Mike,” boasts a formidable record of 50 wins and 6 losses with 44 knockouts, but hasn’t competed professionally since 2005. When asked about his return to the ring after such a long hiatus, Tyson confidently stated, “Because I can. Who else can do it but me? We have a YouTuber fighting the greatest fighter ever to live.”

Addressing his opponent, Tyson remarked, “He may have faced others with similar intentions, but in reality, not really. Once I catch this guy, it’s game over. He’s going to run. He’s going to run like a thief.”

In response, Jake Paul, 27, who has transitioned from YouTuber to boxer with a record of 10 wins and 1 loss, expressed his determination to earn $40 million and defeat the legendary Tyson. “I love Mike and respect him, but until November 15, we’re not friends,” Paul asserted confidently amidst a mixed reception from the audience.

When quizzed about his feelings towards facing Paul in the ring, Tyson sarcastically quipped, “I am terrified.”

The highly anticipated fight will be globally streamed on Netflix and will be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, boasting an impressive 80,000-seat capacity, the home of the Dallas Cowboys.
