According to Spanish news outlet Marca, boxing legend Mike Tyson was not arrested and even attended an event in Miami the following day.
The former heavyweight champion found himself in a physical altercation with a fellow passenger on a flight. The incident began when the passenger, who was reportedly intoxicated, repeatedly harassed Tyson and persistently asked for a photo.
After enduring the disturbance for some time, Tyson stood up and delivered several punches to the man’s face. The entire altercation was captured on video by another passenger and subsequently published by TMZ Sports.
The video shows the man’s face bruised and bleeding profusely after Tyson’s punches. Upon landing, the passenger received medical attention and reported the incident to the police. Representatives for the 55-year-old former boxer stated that the passenger had even thrown a water bottle at Tyson after being refused a photo.
Despite the altercation, Marca reported that Tyson was not detained and was seen participating in an event in Miami the next day.
Tyson, who won the WBC title at the end of 1986 at just 20 years old, remains the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history to hold a world title.
