Mike Tyson ‘cancels fight with Jake Paul’ as boxing icon prepares for retirement.

The boxing world is abuzz as 57-year-old Mike Tyson prepares to come out of retirement, four years after his last bout against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020. Tyson is set to face Jake Paul, who is 30 years younger, in a highly anticipated match.

Evander Holyfield, who fought Tyson in 1996, has weighed in on the upcoming fight. Speaking to FightHub TV, the 61-year-old expressed doubt about Tyson’s endurance, suggesting that Tyson might quit halfway through. “I don’t know, it all depends on how Jake fights,” Holyfield said. “The point of the matter is whether Jake Paul takes a good shot. I have never seen him get hit by anybody. But you never know, Mike might just quit in the ring and sit down and say I’m done.”

Despite their friendship, Tyson is determined to defeat Paul. Their bout is expected to be sanctioned as a professional fight rather than an exhibition, which adds to the stakes. Fans are curious about Tyson’s performance, given his age. Jake Paul, at 27, has only lost one fight so far—to Tommy Fury last year. Paul considers it a significant achievement if he manages to beat Tyson and has been bulking up to match his older, more experienced opponent.

Carl Froch, a 46-year-old former professional boxer, has been vocal about his disapproval of the fight. Speaking to Safebettingsites.co.uk, Froch criticized the match, stating, “The Jake Paul – Mike Tyson fight shouldn’t be happening at all; it’s not a professional boxing match, it’s an exhibition.” Froch also mentioned alleged contractual restrictions on Tyson’s performance, implying Tyson would earn less if he wins in the first round or achieves a knockout. “There’s restrictions in his contract based on how he wins. I don’t know if it’s been confirmed, but I’ve read somewhere that there’s a clause in his contract that means he’s going to earn less money if he goes out there and destroys Jake Paul.”

Froch believes Tyson’s best chance is to capitalize on his remaining power early in the fight. However, he doubts Tyson’s fitness, reflexes, and timing at this stage. Froch added, “Jake Paul is a massive favorite in a shambles of an exhibition which I think shouldn’t be happening.”

Despite his criticism, Froch hopes Tyson lands some significant shots against Paul but remains skeptical about the fight’s legitimacy and quality. “I’m not gonna watch it, I’m gonna refuse to watch it. I’m not getting involved in it,” he concluded.
