Megan Rapinoe Takes Off: ‘If You Don’t Respect Me, I’ll Just Kneel on a Plane!’
In yet another bold act of defiance, former U.S. Women’s National Team star Megan Rapinoe has taken her protests to new heights—literally. According to eyewitnesses on a recent flight, the outspoken athlete dramatically knelt in the aisle mid-flight, reportedly in response to a flight attendant failing to acknowledge her “social justice aura.”
Sources say Rapinoe had requested “a more empowering beverage” after being offered standard in-flight coffee. When the flight attendant failed to apologize for the injustice of serving her the same drink as everyone else, Rapinoe reportedly sighed loudly, shook her head in disappointment, and then, in a powerful moment of self-expression, dropped to one knee near the emergency exit.
“I will not stand for this kind of treatment,” Rapinoe declared, as confused passengers tried to step over her to reach the restroom. “If you don’t respect me, I’ll just kneel. Anywhere. Anytime.”
While some passengers were bewildered by the demonstration, others cheered, believing she was leading an impromptu protest against rising baggage fees. The captain, reportedly a longtime admirer of teamwork, later announced over the intercom: “Ladies and gentlemen, we remind you that federal regulations require passengers to remain seated while the seatbelt sign is on. Even if you are Megan Rapinoe.”
As the flight landed, Rapinoe was last seen kneeling on the moving walkway, protesting the injustice of airline policies, gender pay gaps, and perhaps even gravity itself.
In response to the incident, the airline issued a brief statement: “We support all passengers’ rights to express themselves, but we do request they do so without blocking beverage carts or emergency exits.”
Meanwhile, sources close to Rapinoe say she is already planning her next protest: kneeling while skydiving, in a groundbreaking effort to defy both societal norms and the laws of physics.
