Hamilton is expected to appear at the official launch of the YDDP next to Ben Sulayem in Macau, China next month.

It is said that Mr. Hamilton, who is enthusiastic about the direction Ben Sulayem takes on the FIA, is impressed by the role, which leads to conversations about a future official role in the Motorsport administrative body.

The news about the improved relationship between Hamilton and Ben Sulayem can be a surprise, since his son has been a vocal critic of the current FIA regime in recent years.

Hamilton responded to Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix that Ben Sulayem, who was elected president in December 2021, had “never” had his support.

“There is a real lack of accountability here, in sport, in the FIA,” said Hamilton, who rode for Mercedes at the time.

“There are things behind closed doors, there is no transparency, there really is no accountability and we need that.
