Lando Norris claims “Red Bull is harmless” after Singapore GP practice: Is he playing mind games?

After two intense practice sessions at the Singapore Grand Prix, McLaren’s Lando Norris took a surprising jab at Red Bull, calling them “harmless” despite the reigning champions’ dominance throughout the season. The remark came after Norris topped the timing charts in FP2, with Red Bull drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez struggling to find their form.

Speaking to reporters, Norris confidently stated, “Red Bull is harmless here. We’ve got the pace, and they just don’t seem to have an answer for us this weekend.” This bold statement immediately raised eyebrows, given Red Bull’s usual dominance. Verstappen and Perez were visibly frustrated after FP2, finishing 15th and 8th respectively, with both drivers complaining about the balance and grip of their cars.

Max’erstappen admitted, “It’s difficult. We’re just not getting the grip we need,” while Perez echoed his teammate’s concerns, saying their balance was “all over the place.”

Norris, on the other hand, seemed to be seizing the moment to throw Red Bull off their game. His remarks have sparked speculation that he might be playing mind games, using his strong performance in practice to apply psychological pressure on the reigning champions.

While Norris’ confidence is well-founded given his FP2 victory, fans are left wondering if he’s simply trying to unsettle Red Bull ahead of the critical qualifying session. Red Bull’s struggles on the Marina Bay Street Circuit have opened the door for McLaren to capitalize, but as always in F1, everything can change on race day.

With the race weekend heating up, all eyes are on whether Norris can maintain his edge or if Red Bull will bounce back and prove their resilience under pressure.
