On Sunday, July 14, the star of “The Kardashians,” 45, shared an Instagram Reel of her daughter Penelope’s 12th birthday celebrations. The pre-teen marked her last year before officially becoming a teenager on July 8.
“12 years young 🎈🌴🎡☀️🌊💘,” Kourtney captioned the video, which played alongside Zaz’s cover of “La vie en rose.”
The video began with a birthday cake featuring white icing, flowers, and 12 candles. “Happy Birthday Penelope!” was inscribed on the cake, which rested on a stand beside a plate of star and circle-shaped sugar cookies.
The compilation of clips then switched to the beach, showing a pair of black Vans sneakers lying in the sand as Penelope and her friends enjoyed frolicking in the water in the background. A row of pink deck chairs, complete with a matching umbrella and striped white and pink towels, was then featured before the girl group was captured walking along a pathway by the beach and through a tunnel. The video concluded with a sweeping shot of the beach and fellow beachgoers, along with a Ferris wheel spinning around.
Kourtney’s husband, Travis Barker, joined in the celebration by writing in the comment section, “Happy Birthday Penelope 🥳🥳🥳.”
Kourtney, who shares Penelope with her ex Scott Disick, also reposted her birthday tribute from Penelope’s 11th birthday on her Instagram Stories with the caption, “and just like that, she’s 12 🥹.”
Travis, 48, also gave a shoutout to Penelope on her birthday by sharing a photo of the two making music together on a pink drum set. “Happy Birthday Penelope!!!” he wrote over the photo.
In addition to Penelope, Kourtney shares sons Mason, 14, and Reign, 9, with Disick, 41, as well as son Rocky Thirteen, born in November 2023, with Barker. Meanwhile, Barker is also dad to son Landon, 20, daughter Alabama, 18, and stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya, 25, from his marriage to ex-wife Shanna Moakler.
