King Charles is reportedly turning to spiritual guidance as he contemplates an olive branch to his estranged son, Prince Harry. According to inside sources, the 75-year-old monarch has found solace in conversations with religious leaders, which have helped him navigate the complexities of his new role as King and the ongoing family rift.
Since ascending to the throne, King Charles has devoted more time to exploring different theologies and the principles of forgiveness. Sources close to the monarch reveal that faith, always a significant part of Charles’s life, has become even more central since he became King. “Faith has always been a part of Charles’s life and something he’s explored, but since becoming King it is playing a more central role,” an insider told The Mail. This renewed focus on spirituality has reportedly given him “spiritual nourishment,” making him more open to the idea of a reconciliation with Prince Harry.
The relationship between King Charles and Prince Harry has been strained, particularly following Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure from royal duties and their subsequent public statements about the Royal Family. In his memoir Spare, Harry referred to Queen Camilla as his “wicked stepmother,” and Meghan, in a high-profile interview with Oprah Winfrey, alleged that a senior royal expressed concerns over their son Archie’s skin color.
Despite these tensions, sources close to King Charles emphasize his deep desire for a reunion with Harry. “Charles misses his son. He still loves Harry and wants him back for personal reasons,” a source said. “Harry will always be Charles’s much-loved son. He has faith that Harry could return. He misses the bond they once had, and the door will always remain open to him and his family.”
Charles’s emotional struggle is compounded by the physical distance between him and his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, whom he has not seen since the family visited the UK in June 2022 for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
However, recent reports suggest the relationship is still fraught with difficulties. Insiders claim that despite a positive meeting between father and son in February, following the King’s cancer diagnosis, Charles has since stopped taking Harry’s calls and responding to his letters.
As King Charles navigates his new role, he appears committed to seeking a peaceful resolution with his son. Yet, the path to reconciliation remains uncertain, clouded by past grievances and ongoing tensions. Buckingham Palace has declined to comment on the matter, and representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not yet responded.
The question remains whether spiritual guidance will pave the way for a renewed relationship or if the rift between father and son will persist.
