According to British royal expert Tom Quinn, Prince Harry and Meghan’s recent royal-style tour to Nigeria has greatly angered both King Charles and his eldest son, William.

Although the couple stepped down from their royal duties in 2020, they still retain the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex. To this day, Harry and Meghan continue to leverage their royal connections to work and live the life they desire. This has caused discontent among British citizens. A 2020 Tatler magazine survey found that 68% of respondents believed the couple should be stripped of their titles. Since then, the number of people viewing Harry and Meghan negatively has steadily increased.

“King Charles and Prince William have had lengthy discussions about whether to strip Harry and Meghan of their royal titles,” Tom Quinn shared. “However, they fear that this could backfire and make the situation worse. The last thing they want is to give these renegade members an opportunity to complain.”

The expert also noted that King Charles and his eldest son understand that Harry and Meghan will continue to use their royal titles to serve their own purposes. “William and his father know that even without the titles, Harry and Meghan will continue to travel the world as if they are royals, and most people will still welcome them,” the expert added.

For the King and his heir, this is a “nightmare” situation as the couple continues to use their titles for personal gain. They do not need the Royal Family’s permission to undertake these tours, which is causing turmoil at Windsor Castle.
