John Cena finally reveals “deets of the Farewell Tour”; talks WWE future

WWE Superstar John Cena recently discussed his final run in the Stamford-based promotion after announcing his retirement at the 2024 Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. The Cenation Leader showed up during the event and mentioned that he would be hanging up his boots next year.

After winning everything in the pro wrestling world, Cena finally announced his retirement from in-ring competition. Many fans are heartbroken but also excited to see the 47-year-old star’s last run as they believe he should not hang up his boots before winning his 17th world championship.

During the Money in the Bank post-show press conference, John Cena revealed the plans for his final run. Cena clarified that WrestleMania 41 would not be his last match if everything went according to the creative’s plans.

“Here’s where we give you some of the deets of the farewell tour. It’s not gonna end at WrestleMania [41]. [Next year’s] WrestleMania will be my last WrestleMania but hopefully, if everything goes according to plan, we’re going straight through from January to December. We’re gonna try to do a long list of dates, I think right now, tentatively it’s hovering in the mid-30s to 40s cause I’m still trying to juggle a lot of stuff that’s going on. And that’ll be the end of my in-ring competition. Now part of this business plan I guess that I proposed and they accepted was me remaining in the WWE family in some capacity for an extended time to come,” John Cena said.

The Cenation Leader added that he would want to end his career in the best way possible and remain a part of WWE’s family for a long time.

“I’ve always said to the audience that the WWE is my home and I love it. Just because I physically feel that I’m at my end doesn’t mean I need to distance myself from something that I love. I have passion for this business, I still watch Money in the Bank, yell at the screen, yell at the guy [for] what they’re doing or what they could be doing. So I still feel I have some wisdom locked up here that could be of some value. So I look forward to ending my participation in the ring in the best way that I possibly can and being a member of the extended WWE family for quite some time to come,” John Cena said.

It will be interesting to see what the Stamford-based promotion has planned for John Cena’s final run.
