Jake Paul told he ‘cannot fight’ and called ‘useless’ ahead of divisive Mike Tyson clash

Carl Froch has brutally claimed Jake Paul ‘cannot fight’ ahead of his bout with Mike Tyson later in the year, with the 27-year-old also called ‘useless’. Back in March, it was confirmed that Tyson and Paul would square off at the AT&T Stadium in Texas on July 20.

The showdown is a divisive one, with many fans worried Tyson could sustain a serious injury due to his age. There’s a huge 30-year age gap between the two men at present, with Tyson and Paul aged 57 and 27 respectively.

Jake Paul has been dubbed ‘useless’ and told he ‘cannot fight’ ahead of his boxing match with Mike Tyson. Yet Froch, speaking to Lord Ping, believes the fight will be fixed so neither man comes to harm. He also couldn’t resist the chance to take aim Paul, with the former YouTuber one of the sport’s most-controversial characters.

“I’m not worried about Mike Tyson, Jake Paul cannot fight,” he said.

“None of his knockouts are legitimate. His knockouts were against opponents who didn’t know what they were doing.

“He’s f*****g useless; his technique, style, balance, offence, defence, the way he sets up his punches – he cannot fight. Yet Froch believes Wilder’s fears are ‘exaggerated’ and expressed a belief the fight will be scripted.

“I think Wilder saying Mike is at risk of a coma is over exaggerated, Wilder is getting carried away and giving Jake more credit than he’s worth,” he added. “I even give Mike a chance of winning, but Jake’s youth will defeat father time.

“I think there will be a script as a part of the contract. This is a fix. “Mike will be taking his time like he did against Roy Jones, not trying to hit or hurt Jake, because that’s how the Roy fight went.

Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will put their friendship aside when they fight later in the year. “I think he’s getting paid well, and the script will be: take your time, don’t do anything silly.”

Tyson looks to be in great shape as the showdown approaches. The boxing star has blown fans away by hitting pads in the gym, showing he still boasts the speed of old. Yet Tyson, speaking to Fox News last month, admitted he was ‘scared to death’ ahead of his return to the ring.

“I have a weird personality – I don’t think it’s weird though. Whatever I’m afraid to do, I do it. That’s how it is,” he said. Mike Tyson has admitted he’s ‘scared to death’ as he prepares to come out of retirement to fight Jake Paul

“I was afraid of the Roy [Jones Jr. fight [in 2020].

“I was 100 pounds overweight, I was however old, 54, 53, and I said ‘Let’s do it.’

“Anything I’m afraid of, I confront it. That’s my personality. Right now, I’m scared to death.”
