Jake Paul has firmly defended Mike Tyson against critics who claim the boxing legend is “too old” to face the YouTuber-turned-boxer in the ring. In an interview with TMZ Sports TV, Paul emphasized that Tyson, who will turn 58 later this month, is fully capable of making his own decisions about fighting.
“Tell Mike Tyson that. Because he does not give a s*** what anyone thinks,” Paul asserted. “He’s his own boss. He wants to fight me. He told my team, ‘I don’t give a s*** about this. Like, tell Jake I’m still going to rip his head off and knock him the f*** out. And, this just bought him more time.’ Tell Mike Tyson not to fight and to chill and see how that goes.”
The fight, originally scheduled for July, was postponed to November after Tyson experienced an emergency ulcer flare-up during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on May 26. Despite this health setback, Tyson remains determined to get back in the ring.
“Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly. I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best reschedule date for all parties,” Tyson said in a statement to ESPN. “While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out.”
The highly anticipated bout between Paul and Tyson is now scheduled for November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas and will stream live on Netflix. Tyson’s unwavering determination and Paul’s confidence promise an exciting and memorable showdown.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the fight, which has generated significant buzz and speculation. Both fighters are known for their strong personalities and showmanship, adding to the excitement surrounding the event. As the new fight date approaches, the boxing world will be watching closely to see if the legendary Mike Tyson can deliver another iconic performance or if Jake Paul can pull off an upset against the veteran champion.
