Jake Paul confirms he will become WORLD BOXING CHAMPION in 2025, ahead of his match with Mike Tyson.

Jake Paul has set his sights on winning the cruiserweight world championship in 2025.

The YouTuber will face American MMA fighter Mike Perry in Florida on July 20, after his bout with heavyweight boxing legend and former undisputed champion Mike Tyson was postponed to the 15th. November due to Tyson having health problems during the flight to Los Angeles.

Paul, who has been dubbed “The Problem Kid,” has only faced one professional boxer in his 10 fights, Tommy Fury – the brother of two-time world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. However, Paul strongly believes that he has what it takes to win a world title within a year. In an interview with ESPN, he said: “I believe that in 2025, I will most likely become world champion. I think I’m ready for it in the next few months and I will achieve it. that by 2025.”

To date, Paul has competed from 185 pounds to cruiserweight in his professional boxing career over ten fights (9-1 record). However, for the match with Tyson, he will have to compete in the heavyweight division. He had moved up to 230 pounds before the fight was postponed, although he admitted that 200 pounds was his natural weight class. “Cruiserweight is the weight class my body is built for. My punches are not the same [in lower weight classes]. I don’t have that power or rebound,” Paul revealed.

Currently, the champions holding the four cruiserweight world titles include Chris Billiam-Smith (WBO), Gilberto Ramirez (WBA), Norair Mikaeljan (WBC) and Jai Opetaia (IBF). Paul is not currently ranked in the top 15 by any major sanctioning body, so he has more work to do to be considered for a world title. Ahead of the Fury fight in February 2023, it was promised that the winner would be ranked top 40 with the WBC. However, Paul lost the fight to Fury by split decision, causing Fury to enter the WBC rankings at number 39. Since then, Paul has picked up a unanimous decision win over MMA legend Nate Diaz and two first-round knockout wins over boxing veterans Andre August and Ryan Bourland.
