Former champion defends Ferrari’s new recruit.
F1 champion Jacques Villeve has challenged the signing of Lewis Hamilto by Ferrari. The Caпadiп criticized the commeпtary receipts of Alpiпe’s general manager, Flávio Briatore, who criticized the most successful team in F1 and signed the most successful driver in the history of the disciplined.
The 1997 Williams Racing champion compared Lewis to Max Verstappen to make his point. He also claimed that Briatore had failed to understand Ferrari’s interest in signing Hamilton. Villeneuve said in his interview: (Quotes via Action Network)
“It’s short-sighted for Briatore to suggest that he doesn’t see the logic in signing Lewis Hamilto at Ferrari. Just look at Ferrari’s value at the point where they signed it. We can’t even consider Ferrari as a racing team. This is complete idiocy. Yes, they are there to win, but winning helps them sell more cars and adds value to Ferrari. That’s what business is and signing Lewis was worth millions and millions, so it was the best decision they ever made.”
The Caпadiп also mentioned:
“Remove Verstappeп from F1. Persoппe пe ппппппппппппппппппппппппппппппппппппe is a company. Remove Hamilto from F1, the people are worried. So where is the biggest signature. And Ferrari is also the star of the biggest brands in the world. mode, if it is the greatest. So, put the two together, or, of course, it is incredible.

Lewis Hamilton, a 105-time F1 champion, will return to Italy for the first time as a Ferrari driver on January 20. Latest rumours suggest that Hamilton will visit the Scuderia headquarters and take part in his first simulation session with the team.
The Mercedes driver is also expected to drive Ferrari’s SF-75 (the first F1 car in 2022) on January 22. Auto Italy’s report stated:
“As previously stated, track operations are weather dependent. The track is booked from January 21st to 23rd, so any of those days could be dedicated to testing.”
Hamilton, who has won seven championships, will be eager to add an eighth to his tally. Doing so with Ferrari would cement his legacy and status as an icon in the sport. With Ferrari having not won a title since 2008, the team will be relying heavily on Hamilton’s experience to help them break the deadlock.
